INTRODUCTION
Méribel and Mottaret are the two main ski resorts in this valley and they lie at the heart of the world’s largest skiing area, Les Trois Vallees. Courchevel and Val Thorens can easily be reached from the Chaudanne area in central Meribel. For those that wish to venture even further, the fourth valley Maurienne can be reached within a day’s skiing. Alternatively you could just put your feet up and relax at any one of the very appealing ski chalets in Meribel and just admire the stunning views. Beginner skiers in Meribel are taken up to the higher slopes where they will feel in the thick of the action and enjoy the gentle and pretty tree-lined runs. Intermediates will enjoy seeking out some of the red and black runs that can be found at the higher altitudes, spectacular views of the surrounding mountains can be gained from here too. With around 200 lifts and over 600km of pistes and limitless powder opportunities the advanced skier will be in their element and almost be spoilt for choice. And after a busy day in the slopes, why not relax in our of our ski chalets in Meribel. The village itself has been constructed in traditional Savoyarde style using only wood, stone and slate, making it architecturally pleasing on the eye. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to suit every taste and plenty of activities to do off the slopes too not to mention just relaxing in our luxurious Meribel chalets. A resort with bags of alpine charm, breath-taking scenery and vast amounts of fabulous skiing, we can completely understand its continuing popularity. The chalets in Meribel provide the perfect opportunity to recuperate before another day on the slopes.

Tips in restaurants are usually added on at 10/15 % of the bill. However, it is often a subject of controversy whether this amount actually goes to the waiter or not, therefore it is your choice whether to tip more.
Travel documents are your responsibility. In general you should have:
A signed, valid passport that will remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the completion of your trip. Your passport must have enough blank pages (excluding amendment pages) available for entry and exit stamps issued when entering and exiting immigration points. Visas are required for certain nationalities and you are strongly advised to check your status allowing plenty of time for visa application.
The alpine climate is cold and visitors should wear warm, waterproof clothing at all times when outdoors during the winter. Hats and gloves are also essential to prevent frost bite. Sunglasses or ski goggles are also necessary to reduce the glare of the sun on the snow.
