INTRODUCTION
Boasting 250 km of pisted slopes and the highest ski piste in the Alps at a staggering 3,820 km, Zermatt is a skier’s utopia. Encircled by nine out of the ten highest mountains in Europe, Zermatt enjoys one of the longest ski seasons in the Alps with guaranteed fantastic snow cover from the end of November through to the end of April. Surrounding the breathtaking Zermatt chalets is the majestic mountain landscape, which encourages novice and advanced skiers alike. An abundance of nursery slopes keep parents rest assured that the children will be kept occupied whilst intermediates and advanced will find a wealth of opportunity in the areas of Gant, Aroleid and Triftji. But if its sheer exhilaration you are after then Zermatt is your home. Host to the highest and longest run in the world, the distance from Klein Matterhorn to Zermatt is thirteen kilometres and offers 2200 vertical metres of pure adrenalin rush, not to mention spectacular panoramic views over much of Switzerland from one of our luxurious Zermatt apartments. In the evenings Zermatt’s magical demeanours come to life. Horse drawn sleighs glide across the idyllic cobbled streets, the tinkling of their bells being the only sound to break the otherwise blissful silence of this car-free centre. Zermatt chalets provide an undeniably romantic accommodation in which to stay, whilst the welcoming atmosphere and the cosy, authentic mountain restaurants invite one to linger long after the sun sets behind the magnificent Matterhorn.

This means that you might hand the server CHF 50 for a CHF 47 meal. If you're paying by credit card, hand the server a cash tip of up to 5%. For Taxis as in restaurants, round up or add 5% when you're happy with the service. Tips to your chalet staff are entirely at your discretion.
